Dogs, Wolf Hybrids, and Ferrets, according with Title 20 s3581, over 6 months of age must be registered by April 1. A copy of current rabies vaccine and spay/neutering (if applicable) must be presented at time of licensing. New residents have 90 days to register animals before penalties apply.

Land Posting

To legally post property in Thetford against hunting and fishing a form must be filed with the Town Clerk who will send to the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife.  The filing fee is $5.00 payable to the Town of Thetford.  Print off the form, complete all information, sign the form, keep a copy, then mail the original with the $5.00 fee to:

Thetford Transfer Station
Permits are required to use the Transfer Station. The cost is $25 for a permit which expires on 12/31.  You can purchase your Thetford permit at Town Hall during normal business hours, through the mail by sending a $25 check to the address above, or by putting a check in the drop box at Town Hall. Trash service is provided by Quinttown Container Services, and you will pay them directly each Saturday.

Hartford Recycling Center
We also sell permits and trash punch cards (10 punches) for the Hartford Recycling/Waste Management Center. These permits, for July 1-June 30, are $30 per permit, and $54.00 per punch card (for up to 40 pounds of household trash). There is a one-day permit, $10, which is purchased at the Hartford location.
